Innovative Stem, CPower Partnership Generates Energy Innovation Award for California State University, Dominguez Hills<\/h1>\n

BALTIMORE<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0MILLBRAE, Calif.<\/span>,\u00a0March 7, 2018<\/span>, \/PRNewswire\/ —\u00a0When CPower Energy Management and\u00a0California<\/span>-based Stem Inc.\u00a0announced their partnership in 2017, they knew their leading-edge AI-powered energy storage + demand response program would pay dividends for customers. Neither company, though, anticipated that it would be award-winning. At least not so soon.<\/p>\n

That changed on\u00a0February 2<\/span>, when Smart Energy Decisions announced that Stem-CPower customer\u00a0California State University, Dominguez Hills<\/span>, has been awarded their 2018 Innovation Award in the Customer Project\/Onsite Renewable Energy category.\u00a0Kenny Seeton<\/span>, CSUDH’s Energy Manager, was recognized for his achievement at the Innovation Awards dinner at the 2018 Innovation Summit on\u00a0Feb. 27, 2018<\/span>, in\u00a0Austin, TX.<\/span>\u00a0CPower’s\u00a0Jason Babik<\/span>, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development, and Stem’s\u00a0Randy Palombi<\/span>, Vice President of Sales, accepted the award for Mr. Seeton.<\/p>\n

CPower and Stem formed their strategic partnership last summer to offer enhanced demand management incentives to customers who combine energy storage and traditional demand response curtailment, which multiplies the kilowatt (kW) relief when the grid is stressed. Stacking innovative technology like energy storage with traditional demand response delivers even more demand relief to the grid. CSU Dominguez Hills\u2014along with customers from other vertical markets including commercial real estate and big-box retail\u2014is among the first to participate in this new program, demonstrating that energy storage and demand response can be a powerful combination to earn revenue, provide grid stability, and save energy.<\/p>\n
